Technology Update with Real-World Relevance

Göran Friedl, Principal Systems Engineer at Extreme Networks, guided participants through current technologies and architectural trends within the Extreme portfolio, showcasing the features that can make a real difference in network operations today. Rather than a traditional product presentation, the focus was on exploring practical scenarios, addressing real-world questions, and discussing proposed approaches together.

The program covered a wide range of topics — from the latest Universal Switch updates and the continued development of Extreme Fabric Connect, to the question “Fabric Edge or Stacking Edge?”, and best practices for campus fabric designs. Another key focus was automation: Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and Zero Touch Fabric (ZTF) were presented as building blocks for deploying infrastructures more quickly and consistently. The combination of expert input, live discussions, and direct Q&A led to concrete ideas participants could take back to their daily work.

Dinner Hopping: Expert Conversations in a Rolling Restaurant

When minds are buzzing, good food is a must. During the Dinner Hopping event, an American school bus was transformed into a rolling restaurant. Three stops, three courses — all served onboard. The ride through Munich offered the perfect setting to reflect on the day’s insights in a relaxed atmosphere, deepen connections, and build new ones.

At the end of two intensive days, participants left with a mix of expert impulses, hands-on insights, and valuable personal exchanges. CMS extends its sincere thanks to all participants for their active engagement, as well as to Göran Friedl and Extreme Networks for their partnership and the many fresh ideas they brought to the table.
